The LK0 delivers 328 hp from a turbocharged four-cylinder, powering the larger Acadia and its Chevrolet and Buick relatives. Electronic intake-cam phasing and a modern powertrain controller are important details when diagnosing this engine.

The revised L5P produces 470 hp and 975 lb-ft, with stronger low-speed delivery for HD towing. The same RPO now comes with updated hardware and Global B electronics, so the engine code alone is not enough to select a controller workflow.

The LSD brings a 175-hp 1.5-liter turbo to the Terrain and Equinox. Keep the model-year split in mind: the redesigned 2025 vehicles use different transmissions and torque ratings from the 2023–2024 models.

The LZ0’s steel pistons, revised injectors and turbo help deliver 305 hp and 495 lb-ft. Its compact inline-six suits light-duty towing, with a longer validated oil-pump-belt service interval than the earlier design.

The revised L3B keeps 310 hp but raises truck torque to 430 lb-ft. A stiffer block and crankshaft support the stronger low-speed delivery, while the later TurboMax name identifies this high-output truck engine.

The LM2’s smooth inline-six brings diesel torque to light-duty pickups and full-size SUVs. Two controller generations overlap its production, while rear-mounted service components make accurate diagnosis especially valuable.

The L8T is GM’s naturally aspirated gasoline workhorse for modern HD pickups and vans. Its iron block, long-stroke V8 layout and conventional eight-cylinder operation suit sustained load without diesel aftertreatment complexity.

GM’s original 2.7-liter turbo put four-cylinder torque into full-size pickups. It makes 310 hp and 348 lb-ft in these trucks, using direct injection, variable valve lift and cylinder deactivation to balance response with light-load efficiency.

The LSY blends a broad torque band with clever valve control. Its TriPower system changes valve lift and can shut down two cylinders during light-load driving, giving this 2.0-liter turbo a flexible role across GMC, Cadillac, Chevrolet and Buick.

The L87 pairs 6.2L V8 output with Dynamic Fuel Management and GM’s newer truck and SUV electronics. It delivers strong effortless torque, while correct build identification matters for service parts, ECM calibration and recall checks.
